Penticton Foundry is currently looking for an HR, Environmental, Health & Safety Officer.
Preferred Qualifications and Attributes:
- 5 years experience managing a manufacturing safety program
- 3 years experience hiring production employees
- Experience maintaining personal files related to employments history, safety discipline, etc.
- Desire to continually improve safety performance & culture
Assets
- Experience chairing safety committee & conducting tool box talks
- Training in Human Resource Management
- Diploma in OHS program
- Familiarity with current Okanagan Valley labour market.
Safety & Health
Responsibilities include -
- Responsible for safety orientation, safety training, job site inspection and reporting.
- Maintain awareness of amendments to the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and make recommendations for their implementation.
- Perform job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations.
- Responsible for monitoring adherence to company safety program by all Penticton Foundry Ltd. employees and subcontractors.
- Research, plan organize and conduct training programs and seminars for all Penticton Foundry supervisors, managers, office and plant employees with regard to WHIMIS, Orientation, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR, First Aid, Fork Lift, and any other training related to Penticton Foundry.
- Ensure timely completion of accident / injury reports to necessary company personnel and WCB.
- Work with company Safety Committee to ensure all safety related concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain safety supplies and inventory.
Environmental
Responsibilities include -
- Liaise with community and various organizations with regard to environmental issues.
- Review environmental impact and carbon footprint of Penticton Foundry on an on-going basis.
Human Resources & Various other Duties
Responsibilities include -
- Work with Plant Manager to determine staffing requirements.
- Plant employee hiring and miscellaneous related HR functions.
- Perform additional assignments per President’s direction.
- Ensure all related paperwork and reports related to the position are organized and up to date.
